Tooth Fairy Time

Well, Mallory is not yet 5 but has already lost her first baby tooth!!! I'm devastated!!!! Up until now I have been able to "make" her a baby.....now she is definitely a little girl!! She came home from school less than a week ago complaining about her tooth hurting and sure enough it was loose. By Wednesday it was so loose she couldn't eat so daddy being the "tooth shucker" that he is helped it along. Mallory was so excited and giggly all day!! So, the tooth fairy visited last night and had to literally pry the tooth box out of Mallory's little asleep hand to exchange it for $5.....yeah, I think Mallory racked up too....but we figured with inflation and all that was probably the going rate?!?!?!

And this is how the conversation went this morning....

Mallory: "mommy, the tooth fairy came!"
Me: "oh, really, what did you get?"
Mallory: "only $5"
Me: "ONLY?!?!?"

after briefly thinking....

Mallory: "well, i guess she gave me one because this was my 1st tooth and 4 because I'm 4"

I sat in silence.....thinking....wow....she is so smart....my little angel...
then i really started to worry because if that is her logic then she is going to be expecting the tooth fairy to give her about $30 bucks for the last baby tooth she'll lose around 10!!!! Just so ya'll will know.....the tooth fairy is not that crazy!!!

Wow Mallory! I can't believe you are growing up so fast. I am so proud of you! You have a "window" in your mouth now and when you smile at me, I can see right in!! I hope you are feeling better today. McCain you be sweet to your sister while she doesn't feel well. I love you and miss you. Mimi

ummmmm....I think I will strike a deal with Mallory to give her all MY teeth that I am losing, and maybe we can go in halves? $5 per tooth??!! Times sure have changed. It use to be candy and gum. Mallory, you look beautiful with your snaggly tooth.
